»Words And Places« ist ein urbanes Typographie-Projekt, welches sich mit der Auseinandersetzung von Schrift im öffentlichen Raum befasst.
Öffentliche Räume sind stark von Schrift geprägt, welche nicht bewusst wahrgenommen wird. Unsere Wörter erregten Aufmerksamkeit und manchmal mussten wir auch Fragen von interesierten Passanten beantworten.
Unsere Aufgabe war es, eine Antwort auf die Worte unserer polnischen Kollegen zu finden. Zuerst mussten wir die Wörter für unser Projekt finden. Vielleicht der schwerst Teil unserer Arbeit. Auch hatten wir uns für die Orte zu entscheiden an denen die Worte dokumentieren werden sollten.
Danach galt es die Buchstaben aus Pappe herzustellen. Erst jetzt konnten wir durch die Stadt ziehen und unsere Arbeit in Foto und Film festhalten.
Für mich wirft »Words And Places« viele Fragen über die Stadt auf, in der man lebt, weil es mit Schlagworten Bezüge zu bestimmten Orten herstellt über die man gezwungen ist nachzudenken.

“Words and Places” is an urban typography project about the discussion of writings in the public space. Public areas are strongly influenced by Scripture, which is not consciously perceived. Our words attracted attention and sometimes we had to respond to questions of interested people.
Our task was to find an answer to the words of our polish colleagues. In the beginning we had to find the words. Perhaps the hardest part. Then we had to find the public places in the city.
After that we cut the letters out of cardboards. Now we moved through the city to photograph and film the words.
I think, through the project people are forced to deal with their city, because the project raises questions and it tries to find references to certain places.
