About – Hatcham Art Week

From the 16^thto the 20^th of May 2018, six students of the University of Leipzig and their supervisor, Alexander Frohberg, were invited by the Goethe-Institute London to participate in the Art Week of Hatcham Temple Grove Free School in London.

The main aim of the project was to examine the enviroment artistically as well as imparting the german language.

The students, who were at the time in their third year of studying Art Education, developed six different Lesson Modules, which were based on the Cirriculum of the Bachelor’s degree program at the Institute of Art Education of the University of Leipzig.

Traditional artistic strategies and techniques like Collage, Frottage, Decalcomania and Monotype were explored by the 300 children of the Hatcham College Primary School.

The finale of the Project was a presentation of the results in the school, supplemented by a representational Website.

Auf Initiative des Goethe-Institut London fand in der Schulwoche vom 20.-26.05.2018, im Rahmen der „Art Week“ an der Hatcham Temple Grove Free School in London, ein kunstpädagogisches Projekt zum Thema Umwelt statt.
Durchgeführt wurde das Projekt von 6 Studierenden des Instituts für Kunstpädagogik der Universität Leipzig unter der Leitung von Alexander Frohberg.

Ziel war es, sich der Umwelt als unmittelbare Umgebung zu nähern. Welche Oberflächen, belebten und unbelebten Dinge und soziale Konstrukte umgeben uns?
Im Vorfeld wurden 6 verschiedene Lesson Modules entwickelt, die sich am Curriculum des Bachelor-Studienganges Kunstpädagogik (außerschulisch) orientierten und denen die Verknüpfung traditioneller künstlerischer Techniken mit der Reflexion und Präsentation durch neue Medien zu Grunde lagen.
Mit 300 Kindern aus der Vorschule und den Klassenstufen eins bis vier wurden verschiedene Techniken wie Frottage, Collage und Zufallsdruck erkundet und gleichzeitig ein Fokus auf die Vermittlung der deutschen Sprache gelegt.
Abschluss der Projektwoche bildete eine Präsentation in der Schule sowie eine dokumentierende Website.
